This Pinch Dog Collar was processed with the help of Herm Sprenger new technique, called Chrome Plating. The main point of this technique lies in electroplating a thin layer of chromium onto a metal object. Collars made by this technique usually look more beautiful than those of ordinary stainless steel. What is the secret of these chains looking so shiny and having so strong surface?

Usually producers only dip the chains before galvanizing. But Sprenger uses a technology of mirror - bright polishing. When dipping non-metallic unclean things like oil are removed from the chains, thus the metal becomes clear, but not so shiny as after polishing. Due to Sprenger polishing the surface becomes smoother with bright shine. After tumbling, the chains are nickel or chrome plated. Nickel and chrome baths are monitored permanently by a laboratory. Sprenger checks the grip of the nickel layer through "bending" tests after which the chains are chromium plated. Due to the welded parts the collar consists of, it will serve your dog for a very long time. Chromium plated parts increase the tensile strength of the collar.
